Holiday Guide: Downtown Festivities Kick Off Season

From visits from Santa and his live reindeer, to carolers up and down Market Square, the annual tree lighting celebrations in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff are a sure bet to get you into the holiday spirit.

The holiday season in Lake Forest kicks off with the 29th annual tree lighting ceremony in Market Square. The event, set for Friday, November 23, has become a tradition for family, friends and visitors to the community to enjoy everything from hot cocoa to candy canes, carolers to Mr. Claus, and so much more.

In Lake Bluff on December 1 you'll have a chance to check in with Santa, meet live reindeer, enjoy story times at the library, special promotions by local retailers, horse drawn carriage rides and more. The festivities are happening from 10  - 6 p.m. Then cap off the day of celebration with the gazebo lighting in the Village Green at 5 p.m. For more information on the festivities, check out the Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce website.
