Lake Bluff Boy Scouts Collecting For Shields Township Food Pantry

Be sure to look at your front door Saturday for a friendly reminder from Lake Bluff Boy Scout Troop 42 about their food drive for Shields Township.

Boy Scouts in Lake Bluff Troop 42 will join thousands of other Scouts in Lake County and northern Cook County as they visit neighborhoods on a critical mission to collect food donations needed to restock local food pantries.

On Saturday, March 2, the Scouts will distribute door hangers to remind residents of the following weekend’s food drive.

Residents are asked to reuse and fill their own bags/boxes with nonperishable foods and place them by their front door by 9 a.m. Saturday, March 9 for the Scouts to collect.

Scouting For Food is Lake County’s largest single-day food drive. Food pantries find that they need to restock their shelves in March as the food donations they received for the holidays have been used.

The Scouts will transport the donations to the Shields Township Food Pantry.
