Lake Forest 2nd Deadliest City When it Comes to Trains: Study

Lake Forest had 8 railroad deaths from 2004 to 2012, according to a Northwestern University study.

A recent Northwestern University study has found that Lake Forest has the second highest pedestrian railroad fatality rate per capita in the Chicago area, according to a report in Gazebo News.

With eight pedestrian deaths from 2004 to 2012, the study shows Lake Forest tied with Villa Park and outpaced only by Barrington, Gazebo New reports. The fatalities occurred at locations throughout the community and involved involved Metra, Canadian Pacific and Amtrak trains, the report stated.

The study does not include four deaths that happened in 2003, 2013 and 2014, the report added.
