Lake Forest Plans Fourth of July Festival, Fireworks

Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation is hosting the 7th annual Festival and Fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Deerpath Park.  This community event is a fundraiser to help support the Parks and Recreation Department by providing private donations in support of scholarships, equipment and services for all city parks and programs as well as the Friends Pavilion at Townline Community Park.

Thanks to our presenting sponsor, Lake Forest Bank and Trust, a fun afternoon and evening is planned for all.  Admission tickets can be purchased for $10.00 LF/LB residents ($15 for non-residents) at the Recreation Center business office or by going online at www.friendsLFPR.org<http://www.friendsLFPR.org>.  VIP Family package - which include food, beverages, and premier parking, are also available. The fun starts at 6:00 pm. on July 4th when rocking bands take our soundstage. The opening band is Maggie Speaks and Dennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX, is the main headliner at 8:00 pm.  Activities happen all through the evening and the greatest fireworks display on the North Shore begins filling our skies around 9:40 p.m. Bring your own food and beverages − or purchase delicious food from Lovell’s at the Festival.  Gates will open for those who only want to watch the fireworks just prior to fireworks display.  Kids game area and face painting!  Lovell’s our food vendor will be offering (BBQ food, chicken and pork dinners with various side dishes, desserts) and we will have Beer, Wine, Pop and Water for sale.  Please remember, all food, drinks, admission and parking - cash only.  All proceeds after festival expenses are used to support the great year-round programs of your Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Department.

Schedule of Events
3:00 pm           VIP ticket holders allowed access to set up their lawn chairs/blankets.  They must leave the park once their equipment is set-up

5:00 pm           Gates Open - bring your lawn chair or blanket – No tents or stakes, no pets, no smoking

6:00 pm           Maggie Speaks-A cover band that plays songs from the 80’s all the way back to the 50’s and top 40 hits released just last week.
8:00 pm           Dennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX – takes the stage
9:40 pm           Fireworks Display
