Lake Forest Takes 2nd in Bannockburn Barbeque Challenge

Deerfield was the big winner. Lake Bluff took third.

Bannockburn invited nearby communities to its annualBarbeque Challenge today at Bannockburn Green Shopping Center and next-door-neighbor Deerfield walked away with the judge's overall trophy.

Deerfield, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Bannockburn, Riverwoods and Kildeer prepared ribs, brisket, and a side dish. Defending champion Lake Forest took second with Lake Bluff third. There is also a people's choice award. It will be announced later today. 

The judges were Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield)state Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield)state Rep. Scott Drury (D-Highwood) and Lake County Board President Aaron Lawler. They did not know which town’s representatives prepared what they tasted.
