Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Patch welcomes two new editors today, Steve Sadin and Jacob Nelson.
They will be responsible for covering all the news in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff in addition to their other duties with Patch.
Jacob has been editor of the Highland Park Patch since it launched in September, 2010. After starting as a , Steve has been editor of the Deerfield Patch since February.
A 1971 University of Missouri journalism graduate, Steve has lived on the North Shore most of his life. He can remember sitting in the balcony of the Deerpath Theater as a teenager and makes visits to Sweet’s and a walk around Market Square a regular part of his life.
Steve started out at Patch covering sports and politics including the last election. He has also written about the arts, special events and school activities ranging from the Lake Forest High School teacher’s strike to the anonymous gift of the Barat campus to Woodlands Academy.
Jacob joined the company after graduating from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 2010.
Originally from Miami, Fla., Jacob has fallen in love with the Midwest despite the harsh winter blizzards he's dared to cover. In the past three years, he has reported on everything from municipal elections to teachers' strikes to restaurants opening and closing.
Jacob has covered news that's been unbearably tragic to news that's been nothing short of inspiring. Through it all, he's grown to appreciate and respect the Highland Park community. He's looking forward to what he'll find in Lake Forest.
