  • Where / When: , behind City Hall, just off Deerpath; 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday (Aug. 20).
  • Why Go?: Local farmers and specialty merchants will be selling locally grown produce, seasonal fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, dairy products, and more. Local chefs will sell a variety of their specially-made treats like cupcakes, pies, cookies, dips, salsas, homemade granola and homemade marshmallows. See a demonstration of Painting en Plein Air by David Dallison, from the , at 8:30 a.m. at the farmers market.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where / When: The Village Green, southwest corner of Scranton and Center Avenues in Lake Bluff; 6 - 7:30 p.m., Sunday (Aug. 21).
  • Why Go?: Fun and entertainment for the whole family. Enjoy some of your favorite picnic foods cooked on Bluffington's grill. Listen to some classic rock during a live performance by Soda. This will be the last concert of the summer.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where / When: Brushwood, the former estate of the Ryerson family at Ryerson Woods in Riverwoods; 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., Saturday (Aug. 20).
  • Why Go?: Take a tour of and then see a selection of short films out on the lawn, under the stars. The films showcase green design around the world. (If it rains, the films will be shown inside the Welcome Center.) This event is open to anyone age 12 and older.
  • Pricing: Free but a $10 donation is suggested and appreciated.

  • Where / When: The Village Green, southwest corner of Scranton and Center Avenues in Lake Bluff; 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, (Aug. 19).
  • Why Go?: Shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, summer blossoms and delicious baked goods at the 18th annual Lake Bluff Farmers Market. Park near the Central Business District at the Walnut Avenue Parking Lot, the Train Station Lot and at Artesian Park.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

 

6.

  • Where / When: in Libertyville; 2 - 9:30 p.m.; Saturday (Aug. 20).
  • Why Go?: Take a trip back to the 1960s and enjoy the music of American English, the famous Beatles cover band.
  • Pricing: $10 per person for ages 13 and older; Free for children 12 and younger.
