This year, the benefit will honor Director Sandy Ragsdale's long commitment to Lake Forest Dance Academy.  Highlights of the performance will include a dance-theater piece specially commissioned in Sandy's honor by internationally renowned shoreographer Beth Corining.  This piece features performances by Sandy and faculty member Kim Fletcher along with students from the academy's performing companies in a multigenerational work.  The concert will also include solo and group dances performed by the Prelude Dance Theatre, Euphony Tap Ensemble, and Hip Hop Evolution companies, many of which won awards at the recent Dance America Competition.

The Lake Forest Dance Academy embraces students who enjoy dancing from the age of two through high school and beyond in a variety of disciplines.  Beginning with creative dance and pre-school classes, the curriculum includes ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and poms.  The Academy also supports a high energy musical theater program which combines the talents of dancing , singing, and acting.    Currently, the Academy enrolls 457 students in 83 dance classes and supports nine companies.  Students involved in the companies must audition and attend multiple classses and rehearsals each week.  They perform for the community, in benefit concerts, at competitions and in the Academy's annual recital.  For further information on the Dance Academy contact Sandy Ragsdale, Director, Lake Forest Dance Academy at 847-810-3948
