Passport to Education

For two weeks, downtown Lake Bluff will transform into a showcase of area students’ art projects, starting on Monday, March 5 and ending on Friday, March 16.

Twenty participating stores will display elementary and high school student projects of all types—engaging films, delightful paintings and drawings, poetry, thoughtful essays, and intriguing science and technology projects.

Called “Passport to Education,” the event, which is in its second year, is sponsored by the Lake Bluff Downtown Merchants and the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce with the assistance of school districts 65 and 115.

Adding to the celebration, gifts and prizes are being offered by the merchants.  Visitors are invited to pick up a “passport” at participating businesses, tour the stores to view the displays, have the passport stamped at each location, and then drop off the completed entry at the library, where the drawing will be held on Monday, March 19th.

Participating businesses include Activator Cycles, Baytree National Bank, Bluffington’s, The Clockworks, Community Church, The Daily Grind, Griffith, Grant & Lackie Realtors, Lake Bluff Brewing Co., Lake Forest Bank & Trust, Lawrence Interiors, Noodle Bar, Peg Ann Kompany, PNC Bank, Prismatic Nail, Salon Kallisto, Soledad Zitzewitz Interiors, Twigs, Voila and Wisma.
