Lake Forest Native Returns to Promote New Novel

Beth Ann Fennelly will appear at an author brunch this month to promote the book she co-authored with husband Tom Franklin.

A former Lake Forest resident will return this month to her hometown to promote her new novel. 

Beth Ann Fennelly, who was raised in Lake Forest, co-authored The Tilted World with her husband, Tom Franklin.

The couple will greet fans at an author brunch beginning at 10 a.m. at Jolly Good Fellows Sweet Boutique. The $33 registration includes brunch and a copy of the novel, which sells for $25.99.

Set in 1927, The Tilted World "is an extraordinary tale of murder and moonshine, sandbagging and saboteurs, and a man and a woman who find unexpected love," according to Lake Forest Book Store’s e-newsletter. The bookstore is sponsoring the event.

Fennelly, an English teacher at the University of Mississippi, is the author of Tender Hooks: Poems and Great with Child: Letters to a Young Mother.

Franklin’s previous books include Hell at the Breech and Smonk. The Tilted World is the couple’s first book together.
