Lake Forest Students Gain Recognition for Artistic Talents

Receive Mayor's Emerging Artist Award.

Lake Forest and Lake Bluff students were honored last month by Lake Forest Mayor James Cowhey with the Mayor’s Emerging Artist Award.

The students were selected to represent their school or program for their talent in the visual arts. Selection was based on artwork that was exhibited in the Deer Path Art League Gallery during Youth Art Month in March.

The students honored included Heather Hanson, Lake Forest College; Ellie MacArthur, School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Eun-Ji Sea, Lake Forest Academy; Colin Seikel, Lake Forest High School; Lucy Ren, Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart; Alison Hensel, Deer Path Middle School; Scott Notz, Cherokee School; Anasofia Plambeck, Everett School; Scherazada Natsch, Sheridan School; Neriah Alcantara AJ Katzenmaier Elementary - North Chicago After School Program; Nicholas Dominguez Forrestal Elementary - North Chicago After School Program; Nicholle Valenzuela, Neal Math and Science Academy - North Chicago After School Program.

The After School Programs are offered through the Deer Path Art League's outreach collaboration with North Chicago Community Partners and the Boys and Girls Club of Lake County.
