When Carolyn Huszagh began her freshman year at LFHS, she realized that one thing was missing from the curriculum: a place where dancers could express themselves in a non-competitive form and learn from each other.
With the help of her sister and some friends, Huszagh resurected the Orchesis Club from its 20-year hibernation, and was instrumental in hiring Director-Advisor Annie Snow to run the program.
Huszagh is graduating soon, along with classmates Katie Mass, Kathryn Kriss, Emma Fath, Maria Callahan, and Hannah Mattson, but they leave behind a legacy that will foster the love of dance at LFHS for years to come.
Their final recital, “Back in Black!” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday (May 6) in the Raymond Moore Auditorium at the LFHS East campus.
Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. For more information, visit www.lfhs.org.
