Drive-Thru Causes Concerns with Dunkin’ Donuts Proposal

Lake Forest Plan Commission members said the proposal for the East Lake Forest Train Station needs some adjusting before getting their approval.

Lake Forest Plan Commissioners heard details of the proposed Dunkin’ Donuts at the East Lake Forest Train Station last week and voiced some concerns about the safety of the drive-thru window, according to an article in the Lake Forester.

The commissioners were generally happy with the concept of a coffee shop in the vacant space, but worried about how traffic from the drive-thru window would impact the area around the station, the article says. A representative for the shop’s owner said the drive-thru is a key to the location’s success.

Do you want to see Dunkin' Donuts move into that space?

I cannot believe the planning board is still considering putting in a Dunkin' Donuts. What an unhealthy store to add to the town. Meanwhile, they delay the passage of the Whole Foods project which would bring organic and healthy food to the families of Lake Forest and surrounding communities.

Truly a crappy idea. My vote is no.

We need a new board... first they turn down McDonald's, then McDonald's drive thru after the reality of tax revenue bit them... then Costco...and possibly Whole Foods..even more prestigious..Helloooo can you say..TAX BREAK? Dunkin Donuts should not even be considered. When is the next election?
