What is your business best known for?

Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is a Japanese technique for relaxation & healing. Reiki helps a person to return to a balanced state of functioning on every level - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki is done through light touch to a fully clothed person. A warm and soothing energy flows from the hands of the practitioner into the client, promoting relaxation, relieving tension, calming the mind and helping to heal the body.

When and how did your business get started?

My business opened in its current location on September 1, 2013. I have been practicing Reiki since 2008, and obtained my Master/Teacher certification in March of 2013. I have been employed as a hospital social worker for more than 29 years, and was led to Reiki as a complementary therapy that allows me to treat the "whole person" ... body, mind and spirit. I believe strongly in the mind/body connection and understand how emotional and spiritual distress can impact health. Reiki supports well being and strengthens the body's natural ability to heal by encouraging balance.

How did you choose the area you did for your business?

Lake Bluff is my home, so this was the perfect location to open my practice. I share a suite with an established massage therapist in beautiful downtown Lake Bluff. It is a peaceful, private, relaxing setting that allows you to leave your troubles at the doorstep and depart with a sense of calm and well being. It is conveniently located in the Lake Bluff business district, and is accessible by elevator to the 2nd floor.

New clients receive $20 off a 60 minute Reiki session. Discounts are also available when purchasing a package of 3 sessions ($30 savings).
