Lake Forest Man Among Richest in America

Lake Forest resident J. Christopher Reyes is among the wealthiest people in America, according to Forbes’ 2013 rankings.

Reyes, 59, tied with his brother, Kenilworth resident Jude Reyes, as the 134th richest person in the U.S. The brothers are at the helm of Reyes Holdings, a food and beverage distribution company.

The company, which includes The Martin-Brower Company, Reyes Beverage Group and Reinhart FoodService, delivers more than 808 million cases of beer and food products each year, according to its website.

Reyes Holdings, which employs 15,000 people, is the 14th largest privately held company in the nation, its website states.

J. Christopher Reyes is married and has four children, according to Forbes. Last year the publication ranked him as the 239th richest person in the nation.

Bill Gates topped the 2013 Forbes list at $72 billion, while fifteen people tied for 386th place with a net worth of $1.3 billion. 

Earlier this year, Forbes named Reyes among the 1,4000 richest people in the world.
