No Gender Preference When It Comes to Beer

Lake Bluff Brewing Co. gives a hometown feel to hanging out with friends.

Who said beer is just for boys? Certainly not the which just opened two weeks ago in downtown Lake Bluff to great acclaim.

Opened by Lake Bluff residents Rodd Specketer and Dave Burns, the Brewing Co. offers locals a great place to hang out and enjoy the rich tradition of beer.

Loosely based on the German beer hall with banquette table seating, Brewing Co. offers locals a fresh take on the suburban bar, with a cozy, hometown feel. It’s the perfect spot to gab with the gals, confer on the latest book club read, or just settle in for time away from the kids.

Gals can choose from one of the four small craft blends. Specketer claims the Belgian Monkey is a favorite of women (including his mother-in-law), as is the Black Squirrel Bourbon Stout. And for those of you who prefer a lighter touch, the brewery introduces Wednesday (April 6) its special Inspiration Pale Ale.

And if you’re hungry, they offer a limited menu that not only compliments the brew but is quick to you. Whatever you choose, trends have shown that women who drink beer tend to drink really good beer, according to Specketer.
