Proposed Lake Forest Whole Foods Still Encountering Concerns

The Plan Commission voted to continue considering the proposal at the southeast corner of Route 60 and Saunders Road.

The Lake Forest Plan Commission voted Wednesday to continue considering a proposal to build a shopping center anchored by a Whole Foods at Route 60 and Saunders Road in order to get more information after concerns were raised over traffic and drainage, according to an article in the Lake Forester.

Shiner Capital Partners, the developers of the property which is headquartered in Wilmette, would like to construct an approximate 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods store and then combine it with three smaller buildings possibly to be used as restaurants or other retail use, as well as a bank to round out the complex.

If the Plan Commission does eventually approve the proposal, it still needs the OK from several other city boards.
