Readers Pick Red Velvet as Favorite Cupcake

Excitement is building over the opening of Jolly Good Fellows Suite Boutique on Market Square this spring and Patch readers have made it clear their favorite cupcake is red velvet.

, Patch wanted to know which cupcakes readers hope to see in the new shop. Red velvet was the overwhelming winner in the unscientific poll.

Of the 10 people who responded to the survey, six chose red velvet while one liked the idea of apple and another banana. Two people chose other and reader comments revealed some other possibilities.

“Carrot cake,” wrote Ann. “If they are as good as Baker Boys in Highland Park, I'll never go back. Good luck Laura,” she added referring to owner Laura Fellows.

Joan Sabatino suggested German Chocolate Cake and Dani had a specific idea about the icing. “Spice with cream cheese frosting, yummy,” wrote Dani.

Rebecca Gordon suggested a different approach. “How about something healthy, organic ingredients, whole wheat, etc.,” she wrote.
