Shoppers Hope Mariano's Will Replace Lake Bluff Dominick's

Patch readers share their hopes for the Lake Bluff Dominick's site. While Mariano's was a popular choice, not everyone wants to see another grocery store there.

After it was announced that Dominick's is leaving the Chicago market, Patch asked readers what they'd like to see replace the Lake Bluff grocery store.

Readers overwhelmingly voiced support for Mariano's.

"Mariano's for sure would be great! Amazing store, best produce....," wrote Cyndi Anderson.

"Marianos is the best. I travel from LF to Vernon Hills at least once a week but also shopped at Dominicks. If in Lake Bluff it would be my only store," agreed Jane Fiore.

"I love Trader Joe's but the space is probably way too big for them. Fresh Farms or Mariano's would be logical choices," Vicky Kujawa suggested.

Other choices included Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Plum Market and Butera.

But not everyone wants to buy groceries at 201 S. Waukegan Road. Other hopes for the site include Hobby Lobby, a movie theater and restaurants.

"Anything but another grocery store," posted Patch reader Me.
