- from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Greenbelt Forest Preserve in North Chicago. Purchase fresh organic vegetables, flowers and herbs at the Green Youth Farm. About 16 local high school students learn gardening skills along with leadership, team building and practical job training by participating in this youth development program sponsored by the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Lake County Forest Preserve District. Proceeds from the sale of the fresh produce benefits the teen leadership summer program. Enter the Greenbelt Forest Preserve from the west side of Green Bay Road.
