Beginning their third year of business this month, the Re-invent arts hub opens a birthday week of special events, sales and exhibits  with a wonderful night of celebration in the main gallery on Friday, May 9.  The evening’s honored guest is Lake Forest’s own best-selling national author Jen Lancaster, whose witty and wonderful The Tao of Martha  book is being released this week in paperback - with signed copies at Re-invent.

Equally exciting, Lancaster will debut her hand-crafted art furniture exhibit , Old is the New Black, at   Re-invent that night!  Many of Lancaster’s fans don’t know that the famous and highly entertaining writer is also a talented artist who reclaims and re-invents old furniture and accessories as useable home art…even Martha Stewart would marvel at her talent!    The public is invited to attend the May 9 cocktail reception and exhibit to meet the author/artist, celebrate her book’s paperback release this week and also enjoy her week-long art furniture exhibit.  All pieces will be on sale at the Gallery through May 17.  Admission is free.

For a complete schedule of Re-invent Birthday Week happenings, sales, workshops and more, please visit re-inventlf.com or call the arts hub at 224-544-5961.
