On Thursday, September 19, at the Art Center – Highland Park, located at 1957 Sheridan Road, in Highland Park, from 6 to 8 p.m., “Wines of the World,” a wine-tasting and fundraiser for Career Resource Center (CRC).

Participants will be able not only to sample fine wines from four countries, but also to savor unique cheeses and appetizers, listen to live music and view the glass art of more than 10 distinguished artists from around the world -- all for a nominal fee of $35 per person.  Wines will be available for purchase as well many wonderful items will be featured in a silent auction and raffle.  All proceeds help job candidates secure employment through services provided by CRC.

With unemployment numbers in Illinois hovering just over 9.2 percent, and Lake County unemployment close to 9 percent, for those who are unemployed, the need for job hunting skills is just as real as the need for jobs.  By providing relevant employment services, resources and support, CRC helps more than 1,000 job seekers from Lake and Cook counties each year to gain that competitive edge.
