OLIVER! is coming! OLIVER! is coming!
OLIVER!
Golden Apple award winner and Lake Bluff teacher Tom Beck shares his feelings about reprising the role of Fagin for CenterStage. “Playing the same role twice can bring mixed emotions. You fondly remember the success of the first production while welcoming the challenges of a new cast and a different approach to the same material. Playing Fagin again is like visiting an old friend but you still have to keep it fresh and find new ways to bring the character to life.”
CenterStage is fortunate to regularly attract a talented pool of educators and artists to its production team. Musical Director Mark Amdahl Taylor and Vocal Director Andrea Amdahl Taylor of Lake Forest are enjoying the opportunity to work together.
“Despite my husband and I both being professional musicians, we actually have not worked together all that much. CenterStage is one of the few places where we have been fortunate to team up musically. Now with our son getting involved, we are delighted to be able to enjoy working together as a family.” Their son, Kevin, voices a unanimous vote as cast member Charley Bates, “It is truly an honor to have a role in Oliver! so it will be even more of an honor, the more people who come see Oliver!”
Working with CenterStage is a family affair and all are welcome to participate. Please check our website for volunteer opportunities http://www.centerstagelakeforest.org/volunteer.
