Community to Remember Richard Bentsen with Friday Fundraiser

A fundraiser with music, beer and root beer and baked goods will be held in front of Lake Bluff's Village Green on Friday to celebrate the life of business owner and community advocate Richard Bentsen, who passed away May 2.

The life of Lake Bluff business owner Richard Bentsen will be celebrated at a fundraiser for the family from 5-8 p.m. Friday in front of the Lake Bluff Brewing Company and the Village Green on Scranton Avenue in Lake Bluff. Scranton Avenue will be closed for this event.

Bentsen, owner of the Noodle Bar, who passed away May 2 at age 54. He is survived by his wife, Alexis, and his children, Tyler, Lana and Tate.

Bentsen was an avid supporter of the Village of Lake Bluff and had a keen interest in the schools, community needs and the commercial development of the downtown.

  • 5:15 to 6 p.m.: Derrick "Suede" Stout and Susie McMurray
  • 6-6:45 p.m.: Terry Moran and Jess Moran
  • 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.: Dave Hawkins
  • 7:15 to 8 p.m.: Nic Barnum

  • Beer and root beer sale by the Lake Bluff Brewing Company—$1 from the sale of each drink will be donated to the Bentsen Children's Trust.
