One Lake Bluff resident summed it up when he said, "I've lived here all my life and I've never seen anything like it."

He was looking at a tree that had uprooted and come to rest on a house at the corner of East Prospect and Simpson avenues in Lake Bluff. The house appeared not to have any structural damage, and a crew was buy trying to dismantle the tree into pieces.

Just up the block on Simpson, a homeowner had to pull around a fallen tree in order to park her car on the driveway next to her house. The tree was blocking the driveway and just about the entire front of the house.

The same was true in the 200 block of East Scranton where a tree lay to rest in front of a house.

Several side streets were taped off by Lake Bluff police due to down power lines on Mountain Road just west of Sunrise, and again at the intersection of East Prospect and Gurnee.

Another knocked power out in the 200 block of West Washington Avenue.

In Lake Forest, power is out for the street lights heading west toward Waukegan Road.

Traffic lights on Waukegan Road north of Route 176 are without power. There are Lake County sheriff officers directing traffic at Waukegan Road and Route 137 (Buckley Road).
