Find a Way to Heat Up the Winter Blahs

Forever Om Yoga offers a variety of classes and options.

Tired of wool socks, boots, and coats, and still being cold?

Get hot at Forever Om Yoga in Lake Forest (1407 Western Ave., (847) 482-YOGA). At temperatures exceeding 90 degrees, these Hot Vinyasa classes will warm you to the core, strengthen and detoxify you.

A native of Lake Forest, Cilla Stoll founded Forever Om with the belief that yoga should be available to all ages and levels, and strongly asserts her zero ego policy (no high-end yoga attire required). She and her staff of instructors are approachable and welcome the chance to work with beginners to advanced, no matter the class.

In addition to more traditional vinyasa classes, Forever Om offers “No Dogs Allowed” – perfect for practitioners who don’t want to put repetitive pressure on the shoulder or wrist. There’s also “Athlete Recovery Yoga” for anyone needing therapeutic stretching after shoveling all that snow.

Best of all, the studio has no mirrors, a generous gesture to those of us with midwinter skin (the real intent is to get practitioners to feel the poses versus looking at them). And they’ve taken extra care to keep you healthy with a state-of-the art heating system that uses infrared light to clean the air (allaying the fears of those who think of hot yoga as a petri dish for germs).

The class schedule is posted and guests can register for a class online. Classes are offered days and evenings, so even if the kids are home during the day, you can still get in a class at night.
