  • Where/When: , 990 W. North Shore Drive, Lake Bluff; 6:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday (June 18).
  • Why Go?: Annual fundraiser to benefit the Max Schewitz Foundation, a not-for-profit grant-making foundation that raises funds for research and prevention of sudden cardiac death and conservation and preservation of fragile species and ecosystems. The evening will feature innovative food created by Chef John des Rosiers of Inovasi, hot cars and good friends.

  • Where/When: Village Green, Route 176 and Sheridan Road, Lake Bluff; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (June 18) and Sunday (June 19).
  • Why Go?: Artists on the Bluff's 11th anniversary celebration. About 50 artists will display their paintings, drawings, photography, jewelry and sculptures. Visitors may bid on works donated by the artists during a silent auction. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase from local merchants on site. Proceeds will go to the support of the arts and artists. 
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where/When: Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center, 1200 N. Westmoreland Road, Lake Forest, 1-3 p.m. Saturday (June 18).
  • Why Go?: The Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Staff in conjunction with the personal trainers at Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center will be offering free photographic postural analysis. You will receive photographs of your posture, posture correction recommendations and well as general tips about flexibility and strengthening. Appointments are required. Call (847) 535-7551.
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where / When: Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire; 8:30 - 10 p.m. Friday (June 17).
  • Why Go?: The Trippin Billies band plays only original Dave Matthews material-the closest thing to being at a Dave Matthews Band concert. Bar and kitchen will be open. Must be 21 years old or older to attend.
  • Pricing: $12 per ticket.

 

5. Bernie's Book Bank Benefit: Rock the Bank

  •  Where/When: Bernie's Book Bank Warehouse, 28101 Ballard Ave., Lake Forest, 6-10 p.m. Friday (June 18).
  • Why Go?: Since December 2009, Bernie's Book Bank has distributed more than 200,000 books to 30,000 at-risk children. Proceeds go toward the collection, processing and distribution of more books to more children in need.
  • Pricing: $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
