Memorial Day Ceremonies Planned in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff

Lake Forest and Lake Bluff will honor veterans this Memorial Day with ceremonies and a parade.

Memorial Day events will be held Monday, May 27, in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff.

Lake Forest

Join the Lake Forest American Legion for a parade that will start at the parking lot north of city hall at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. and will include the Lake Forest High School Band; National Anthem singer Mary King; Buglers Timothy Walther and Thomas Balk; a former prisoner of war; Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; and guest speaker Ira Weinstein, U.S. Army Airforce, 8th Air Force.

The Memorial Day service, coordinated by the local American Legion Post 510, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday on the Village Green. Immediately following the ceremony, refreshments will be served in the Public Safety Building Community Room at 45 E. Center Ave.
