  • Why Go?: The Shields Township Phoenix Rising Foundation's Golf Outing to benefit the Shields Food Pantry is sponsored by Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and there will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner, silent auction and awards will begin at 6 p.m. The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a goodie bag, box lunch from Wisma of Lake Bluff, dinner from Bluffington's and the silent auction.   • Why Go?: Local farmers and specialty merchants sell local produce, seasonal fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry, dairy products, and more. Local chefs will sell a variety of treats like cupcakes, pies, cookies, dips, salsas, homemade granola, homemade marshmallows and more.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where/When: Village Green - Southwest Corner of Scranton & Center Ave; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday (July 22).
  • Why Go?: Enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, summer blossoms and delicious baked goods at the 18th annual Lake Bluff Farmers' Market. Park near the Central Business District at the Walnut Avenue Parking Lot, the Train Station Lot and at Artesian Park.
  • Pricing: Free admission.

  • Where/When: ; 8:30 p.m. Friday (July 22).
  • Why Go?: See Universal Picture's Despicable Me at the beach. Bring a blanket or chair and sit in the grass area just south of the North Pavilion. Cartoons will begin at 8:30 and the movie will start at 9 p.m. In case of rain, the movie will be shown July 30. 
  • Pricing: Free.

  • Where / When: , in the Auditorium; 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (July 22 and 23); 2 p.m. Sunday (July 24).
  • Pricing: $25 at the door; $20 for adults and $15 for children online.

  • Why Go?: Talented students from this world-class youth music school will perform a high quality musical performance.

  • Why Go?: Float around in the pool and watch Surf's Up.

  • Geldermann Home, 550 Hathaway Circle, Lake Forest; 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday (July 24).
  • Why Go?: 13th annual fundraiser, hosted by 10-year-old Hannah Geldermann. Features a moonwalk, games, prizes, crafts, a raffle and treats. Proceeds will go to KidsUganda which provides aid to the Maranatha Schools in southeastern Uganda. The Maranatha schools provide two meals a day and homes for over 1,100 children without families in addition to education and vocational training.
