Your Public Library's Dirty Little Secret

The image of what a Public Library represents is well ingrained in the American mind. For instance, my barber (who shall remain nameless) nearly always argues with me during my visits. He is unhappy that his local Library has a DVD collection. And, he is not alone. For many, the image of a Library remains something out of Harry Potter or any other number of movies. Silent, dusty, filled with tall gloomy shelves which are piled high with books carrying the wisdom of the ages. Educational, but not fun.

Except, no matter how much some individuals (even Librarians) will try to reinforce that old stereotype, the modern Library is downright fun. It's true. Stop by and investigate for yourself. The Lake Bluff Public Library offers free access to the Internet, WiFi, and collections ranging from books to eBooks and video games. While quiet corners for study remain, the heart of the Library is filled with conversation and laughter. Not to mention comfortable chairs. Library's are also downright useful. Among much else, the Lake Bluff Public Library registers individuals to vote, provides free notary services, and can fax and print documents at low prices. And the best part? We ARE still educational, so you just may learn something along the way too.

If you haven't stopped by and visited your local library in a while, stop by and see what we have to offer. You're in for a surprise.
