Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters
One of the most common signs
of Alzheimer's is memory loss, especially forgetting recently learned
information. Others include forgetting important dates or events; asking for
the same information over and over; increasingly needing to rely on memory aids
or family members for things they used to handle on their own. Early detection
gives a person a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and
plan for the future. Lauren Levin, an Outreach Manager for the Alzheimer’s
Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, will separate myth from reality and address
commonly held fears about Alzheimer’s in America.
