Learn about a Woodlands Academy education at Nov. 12 Open House

Discover
the unique educational experience at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart
during an open house Tuesday, Nov. 12. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. you’ll be able to
tour the school, meet with teachers
and coaches, and learn about the many exciting clubs and activities that make
the Woodlands experience so unique.

Located
at 760 E. Westleigh Road in Lake Forest, Woodlands Academy is a Catholic day and
boarding college-preparatory high school for young women in grades nine through
12 that promotes academic, artistic and athletic excellence along with global
awareness, social responsibility and strong faith. Its present enrollment is
drawn from the greater Chicago area as well as several other states and
international countries including China, Mexico, Malaysia, Poland, Philippines,
Guatemala, England and Belgium.

Woodlands
Academy is part of a worldwide network of Sacred
Heart Schools that spans 19 cities in the United States and 44 countries around
the world. Its students have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program allowing them to attend a quarter or a semester at one of the
other Sacred Heart schools. 

With its long
tradition of welcoming students from all over the world, Woodlands Academy’s
international student program provides the academic support and social
opportunities that help the students make lifelong friends and earn a place at
a U.S. college or university upon graduating.

The theme
for the 2013-14 school year is The Resilient Sacred Heart Woman. Graduating
women of courage, confidence and compassion is Woodlands Academy’s four-year
goal. Founded in 1858, its identity is rooted in a desire to inspire young hearts and
minds to excel, to lead lives of integrity and to serve.
