LFLA/HEADstrong Foundation Shoot-A-Thon

The Lake Forest Lacrosse Association has selected the HEADstrong Foundation as the beneficiary of its community service efforts for the 2014 season. The LFLA will support the HEADstrong Foundation by organizing a Shoot-a-Thon and wearing HEADstrong lime green shooter shirts during their “Green Out” games on the weekend of May 17th.  The LFLA boys and girls teams will participate.

The HEADstrong Foundation is committed to being a resource for blood cancer patients and their families, helping them navigate the harrowing ordeal of cancer by sharing experience, lending guidance and providing essential services with emphasis placed on sustaining and improving quality of life during the process.  HEADstrong was founded by a young lacrosse player in Philadelphia, Nick Colleluori, suffering from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  Nick eventually succumbed to the disease but his family is carrying on his wishes to help other families suffering from the disease.

Why:  To support the HEADstrong Foundation’s mission of improving the quality of life of those afflicted with blood cancer and to support the LFLA.
