National Headache Foundation 28th Annual Fundraiser

The National Headache Foundation (NHF), a nonprofit organization that has pioneered the way headaches have been diagnosed and treated, will host its 28th annual gala- A Night at the Derby- A World Without Headache on Saturday, May 3, from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton Chicago. The Executive chairman and Founder of the Foundation is world-renowned headache authority Dr. Seymour Diamond. Tickets are $300 per person and the general public is encouraged to come. The emcees for the event will be NHF Board Members, Jan Lewis, M.D., and Roger Cady, M.D.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, an award presented to a health care professional for an impressive body of work in the field of headache and for enriching countless lives of those who experience headache, will be presented to Robert B. Daroff, M.D. Dr. Daroff is Associate Dean for Development at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH and is internationally recognized for his work.

Long-time Board Member and President of the NHF, Arthur H. Elkind, M.D., will receive the Elaine Diamond Service Award, an award that recognizes excellent and enduring service to the NHF. June Barnard and daughter Katie Trowbridge are being honored with the Executive Chairman Award for their service to the organization. This award recognizes exceptional volunteer service to healthcare, headache sufferers, and to the NHF.

The NHF will utilize the proceeds from the event to further the mission of increasing headache awareness through research support, educational activities, and serving as a resources for headache sufferers. The gala will consist of dinner, silent auction, "Wall of Wine" and dancing to music provided by the Don Cagen Orchestra. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for a 2014 Honda Accord LX sedan or a $20,000 cash prizes. Raffle tickets are $100 and only 700 will be printed.
