"Occupy!" Fall Theater Production at Lake Forest College

The fall theater production is a newly created play based on the Occupy Wall Street movement in Zuccotti Park, New York City in the fall of 2011. It will run November 7-9 and November 14-16 at 7:30 p.m.

A series of monologues, dialogues, and testimony, the play seeks to explore what the Occupy Movement was, what it became, and where it is now. How does political action take place today? How do you lead a movement that by its nature is against leaders? What were the short term goals of the Occupy Movement and what are the long-term effects of it? Most of all, who were the young people who made it happen and how did they accomplish what they accomplished in such a short term?

Through interviews and research, Lake Forest College students have worked with director and writer Richard Corley to create this original and exciting piece of theater.
