Student-written one acts to be performed at Lake Bluff Elementary School

The students of Lake Bluff Elementary School will present their winter show,  Be Our Guest 2014, on Thursday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the school gym. A dress rehearsal is scheduled for 1:30 pm that afternoon, and is open to community members who might otherwise be unable to attend.


The show is made up of five original one-act plays written by third graders during their Fall 2013 drama classes, and will be performed by students of other classes. The plays are:

  • A Pig Problem written by Mr. Oakley’s class and to be performed by Mr. Kreiner’s class.
  • A Bad Day in the City of Light written by  Miss Winston’s class and to be performed by Mr. Brown’s class.
  • The Pony Who Liked Video Games written by Mrs. Warfield’s class and to be performed by Mrs. Koushanpour’s class.
  • The Leech vs. The Poacher written by Mrs. Scheffer’s class and to be performed by Mrs. Lenox’s class.
  • The Rockin’ Dinner Plate written by Mrs. Willey’s class and to be performed by Mrs. Romito’s class.

All cast members will perform three chorus songs: “Be Our Guest,” “Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da,” and “Wakko's America.”

Be Our Guest 2014 is directed by Tom Beck with musical direction by Elaine Ellis and Susan Haugland. Ms. Ellis is the program accompanist.
