Planter to Plate Luncheon

On Wednesday, September 21, Lake Bluff Garden Club hosts a different kind of luncheon, "Planter to Plate" at Inovasi's in Lake Bluff.  The event benefits the year-long seasonal container plantings in downtown Lake Bluff.  Chef John DeRosier will demonstrate his considerable talents by adding edible flowers and herbs to the luncheon plate, thus pleasing both the taste buds and the eye.

Many of the flowers and herbs Chef John uses will come from the harvesting of herbs and edible flowers grown in the summertime containers.  The club's Village Planters selected herbs and edible flowers for the downtown last May in anticipation of this affair.  When early fall comes to a close, the Club will replant the business district containers with materials more appropriate to the winter and holiday season ahead.  Lake Bluff Garden Club assumed responsibility for the project in the early 80's.

Two luncheon seatings are offered: 11:30 am and 1 pm.  Tickets at $50 are limited and can be obtained on Friday mornings in front of Inovasi's across from the Village Green or by telephone: 847-234-4081
