Zengeler Cleaners Celebrates 1st Anniversary In Long Grove

Advanced technology, environmentally friendly processing fuels store’s success

Lake Forest, IL, May 14, 2012:  When Zengeler Cleaners identified Long Grove, IL, as the location for the company’s 8th location, the family-owned cleaner made a commitment to provide cutting edge technology and environmentally responsible processing at the new store.  This approach has made the new location very successful.  In just one short year, the new store has enjoyed rapid growth, received the “Outstanding Plant On-Premise” award from American Dry Cleaner (a leading industry publication) and has been featured on CBS-Channel 2 in television in Chicago.

“Our approach has been to provide convenience and value for customers in a setting that fits in with the community,” according to Cathleen Hayes, Manager of the Long Grove location and a 20-year veteran of the cleaning business.  “We made a significant investment in the technology required to protect the environment.  Our Long Grove customers really appreciate the effort we’ve made to preserve the historic integrity of the Village.”  Zengeler Cleaners’ Long Grove operation opened May 18, 2011.

Zengeler Cleaners uses only natural solvents in its cleaning process as part of its commitment to the environment.  All solvents are recaptured and recycled, in the tightest, most carefully controlled systems ever designed.  This award winning technology stands in contrast to cleaners who use solutions such as perchlorethylene, or “perc,” a less expensive process with an unpleasant side-effect:  it is a potential hazard to the environment.

Superior convenience is delivered thanks to Zengeler Cleaners’ easy to use, fully-automated kiosk that offers 24/7/365 pick-up and drop-off.  Customers can enroll in the program with either a Personal Identification Number (PIN) or with a credit card on-file at the store.  The 24-hour service is made possible by using cutting-edge technology that automates the handling, sorting, bagging and invoicing of each order.  The company even provides “do-it-yourself” cleaning tips for spot and stain removal – a service that was featured on a “live” morning news segment on Channel 2 television on Monday, April 16th.

“Our 24-hour service is perhaps the most popular feature of our new store,” said Tom Zengeler, President of the family-owned and operated business, which is also the largest and oldest in the Midwest, serving area customers for more than 155 years.  “Today’s customers put a premium on service, and our 24-hour automation service delivers on that expectation.”  The new store is located at the intersection of Aptakisic Road and Route 83 in Long Grove.

Zengeler Cleaners offers a complete range of services at all store locations.  The company has served the greater Chicagoland area for more than 155 years.  Its growth and longevity was accomplished by setting a higher standard in fabric care, coupled with the family's belief that successful businesses should be partners in the communities they serve.  Zengeler demonstrates its commitment with support for programs for youth and seniors, social/service organizations, cash donations and faith-based organizations.

Zengeler Cleaners has seven other locations:  Deerfield, Hubbard Woods, Northfield, Winnetka, two in Libertyville and its headquarters store in Northbrook, along with eight home pick-up and delivery routes.  For more information about Zengeler Cleaners’ newest location, please contact Tom Zengeler, President, at (847) 272-6550, ext. 14 . . . or check us out at www.zengelercleaners.com.
