Everyday Inspirations: Redding Worth a 'Passionate Advocate' at Age 9

Patch readers told us who the "Everyday Inspirations" in their communities are, and we're sharing their stories and the work they've done locally.

Everyday Inspirations is a series that features people in Patch communities who inspire others through their work, or people who have faced extraordinary situations and grown from them. They have been featured by other people in the community that have been inspired by the nominees.

Name: Redding Worth
Town: Lake Forest, IL
Nominated by: Dustin O'Regan

Why is this person an "Everyday Inspiration?"
She is kind, loving, generous and positive about everything she does. She brightens people's days all the time with kind words and compliments. She finds the good in everything and everyone.

At the young age of 9, she is a passionate advocate for things she believes in. For example, she recently spoke to a room full of parents at a district meeting to voice her concern about the future of the Mandarin Immersion Program; a program she believes to be a gift to our community.

Has the nominee's life been changed in an extraordinary way?

My life has been changed dramatically with the addition of this lovely person to my life. She teaches me something new every day. Every experience is enhanced by her kind soul and sweet smile. I feel truly blessed.

How does this person work to make others' lives better?

Ever since she was little she has always reached out to help other people. There was a little girl in her preschool class who would cry and cry when her mother left. Redding would always comfort her and say "don't worry darling, your mother is coming back." She was 3 at the time! If she sees that someone isn't participating in an activity, she will go over and try to include them. She has a beautiful soul, and I am honored to be her mother.
