Lake Forest to Light Market Square, Welcome Santa

Ice sculpting and caroling are also parts of the 2013 tree lighting ceremony.

Lake Forest's 30th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring thousands of twinkling holiday lights, will be held Friday, Nov. 29 in historic Market Square and on Western Avenue by the train station.  

This annual event, co-sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company, has become a traditional gathering of family, friends and visitors to the community.

The day's festivities will include:

  • 3 p.m.: An ice sculpting performance by Art Below Zero 
  • 4 p.m.: A special visit by Santa Claus with complimentary refreshments provided by Aramark Catering.  
  • 4:45 p.m.: A caroling concert by the Lake Forest High School Choristers 
  • 5:15 p.m.: Tree lighting

Western Avenue between Deerpath and Westminster will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
