What Percentage of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff Homes are Mortgage-Free?
More than 36 percent of Lake Forest homeowners and 20 percent of Lake Bluff homeowners own their homes outright.
Communities with a large segment of senior citizens or high median incomes tend to have the highest percentage mortgage-free homes, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
In Lake Forest, 36.2 percent or 6,070 of homes are mortgage free, according to Crain’s analysis. In Lake Bluff, 20.3 percent or 1,962 homes are mortgage free.
