FFNI visits 25th Anniversary Art Exhibit

The Friendship Force views 2012 Women's Works 25th Anniversary art exhibit in Woodstock.

Members of The Friendship Force of Northern Illinois (FFNI) enjoyed a visit to the Illinois Northwest Area Arts Council’s 25th Anniversary Art Exhibit, featuring world class women artists with works in all media.

The Fine Arts exhibit was held at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, Ill. The exhibit by women artists included several entries by Judith Nahill, a member of FFNI.

Other entries came from many states and displayed various media such as paintings, sculptures, found items, weaving, wall hangings, and others. The event also featured a talented group of violin students who entertained the many visitors.

Prior to viewing the exhibit, members of The Friendship Force of Northern Illinois (FFNI) enjoyed a delicious lunch at La Petite Creperie & Bistro, adjacent to the Old Court House Arts Center. These events, called LEO (Let’s Eat Out) are offered to members of the club every month.

It was uplifting to view the beautiful and expressive art of very young girls to that of mature women. It was also enlightening to learn about this historic town famous for art, theater and music festivals. Woodstock was also the setting for the 1993 movie Groundhog Day which is celebrated in style each February.by watching their own "Woodstock Willie" attempt to see his shadow. Joan Harrington
