5th Annual Run & Roll Track Meet

The fifth annual Run & Roll Track Meet took place at McCracken Field in McHenry on June 6.
The event was held for participants of all ages who have a physical and or visual disability, and served as a qualifier for the National Junior Disabilities Championships.
There were 25 participants from the Chicagoland area this year or more than twice the amount over last year.

Along with the competition, there were also demonstrations on Paralympic sports as well a display of new adaptive sports equipment.
Five GLASA athletes (Samantha Smolka, Aaron Holzmuller, Ben Spengel, Tiffany Melchiorre, and Serena Jaros) competed in the track meet, and each placed first in their respected divisions.
