Air Wet with Promise

Air Wet With Promise Having finished my coffee and toast, I see that under a hazy pale gray sky, the air is wet with promise. The spring green tree leaves put on a vigorous rain dance from time to time and then slow way down as if to catch their breath, still heaving a bit here and there before they start up again. A bicyclist in a neon lime green jacket speeds along the street, peddling so fast that his helmeted figure disappears in an instant. A passerby pulls up the hood on her green jacket as she hurries to work. Green is the color of the morning, the chlorophyll of life, and the air is wet with promise. June 18, 2013 6:41AM
