Giving Birth at 81 Isn't Easy

A new way to tell a life story is to be found in just published " PLATO AND POTATO CHIPS" by June Luvisi

There! It's finally out of me! I've incorporated new and old postings and set them in a framework of my life and the life of my family in book form! Me, a June Cleaver 1950's kind of housewife! My book's title? "PLATO AND POTATO CHIPS", both very important to me.

Plato became important to me when I went back to school when I was in my 40's. His emphasis on the importance of ideas gave me an "aha" experience of discovery that brought home to me how much I loved literature! At the time an MA in British Literature seemed unachievable since my BS in Sociology did not pave the way. There was no specified path to make such a transition. But I had learned from life that there was nothing more satisfying than having a chance to study and work at what you loved. So I plowed away at upper level Lit courses and crossed my fingers. And eventually that great day came when they accepted me into grad school as a candidate for the MA in my chosen field!

As for potato chips, well my passion for them goes way, way back. If you read my book, I think you'll understand. The thing is, if it were not for more than a little pushing and support from family and a dear family friend, my "PLATO AND POTATO CHIPS" wouldn't be available at Amazon, Google, Barnes & Noble etc., My letter to my offspring and the world wouldn't exist in book form. There have been many twists and turns. It's been a lot like giving birth! But it's out there...finally!
