LC Health Dept. & Alliance for Human Services awarded grant to increase healthcare to the county

The Lake County Community Foundation congratulates the newly formed Alliance for Human Services, on its recent announcement of a one-year grant of approximately $800,000 from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Under the leadership of the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center, the Alliance will help carry out a countywide initiative to increase access to healthcare for Lake County residents.

The Alliance for Human Services is undertaking this challenge along with The Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center.

The Lake County Community Foundation has been incubating The Alliance For Human Services over the last three years and recently awarded it an $85,000 grant for the purpose of continuing its work in the Foundation's priority area of creating and sustaining human capital in our region by supporting the health and human services system.

Alliance members include: Antioch Area Healthcare Accessibility Alliance, A Safe Place, Arden Shore Child & Family Services, Boys and Girls Club of Lake County, Catholic Charities, CREW, Inc., ElderCARE at Christ Church, Family Service, HACES, HealthReach, Inc., I-Plus, Lake County Community Development, Lake County Health Department, Love INC of Lake County, Mano a Mano Family Resource Center, Mothers Trust Foundation, Nicasa, NFP, PADS Lake County, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Waukegan Public Library, Youth Conservation Corps, YouthBuild Lake County and Zion Township.
