The Lake County Community Foundation Names Judy Armstrong to Board of Directors

Waukegan, IL—July 22, 2014 - The Lake County Community Foundation announced the addition of Judy Armstrong to its board of directors.  The Foundation’s board is comprised of 15 directors representing the diversity and geographic scope of the county.

 

“Judy Armstrong is a known and respected member of the Lake County community with deep ties to the western part of the county,” said A. Stewart Kerr, Board Chair of the Foundation. “Her expertise will be an added resource in reaching our goals and in bringing the voices of the Round Lake area to the table.”

Judy Armstrong, a Round Lake Beach resident, is recently retired. She was Director of Business Development for Bolchazy-Carducci, a publisher of Latin and Greek textbooks in Mundelein, IL.  During her 17 years with the family-owned company, Judy was involved in financial planning, editing and managing projects focused on offering the best in Latin and Greek pedagogy.

Judy served as Village Trustee and as an officer and volunteer on numerous boards and organizations throughout Lake County. She received the YWCA Woman of Achievement and The Illinois Board of Education “Those Who Excel Award of Excellence” in 2012. She is also proud elder at Calvary Presbyterian Church. 

 

“I've long admired and been inspired by The Lake County Community Foundation's commitment to civic leadership, collective philanthropy and nonprofit organizations, so it's an honor to join this board,” said Armstrong.
