Lake County Family YMCA Hosts Preventive Physical and Medicare Exams

PathFinder Health is offering on-site preventive health physical exams and Medicare annual wellness visits to the community at both Lake County Family YMCA branches in July.

PathFinder Health, a national preventive health provider, is offering on-site preventive health physical exams and Medicare annual wellness visits to the community at both Lake County Family YMCA branches in July.

“Knowing your risks and taking steps to prevent the development of a chronic illness is perhaps the most important thing that you can do for your long-term health,” said Scott Morcott, M.D., chief medical officer of PathFinder Health, a national preventive health provider.  “The YMCA and preventive health and wellness have everything in common.”

These exams are available at no cost to those with Medicare or commercial insurance. There is no co-pay or deductible. Medicare recipients need to have been in Medicare at least one year and have not had an annual wellness visit within the last 12 months.

Both exams are ideal for people who are interested in learning more about their personal health risks and have questions about their wellness that they would like to discuss with a doctor. Participants receive a personal report that outlines their current health and risk status and formulates a personal prevention plan. The exams also are ideal for people who don’t have a doctor or haven’t seen one in years.

All health information and results are kept strictly confidential between you and your healthcare provider. Exams will be done on Tuesday, July 10, and Thursday, July 26, at Central Lake YMCA, 700 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, and on Thursday, July 12, and Wednesday, July 25, at Northern Lake YMCA, 2000 Western Ave., Waukegan, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. each day.

Wellness and preventative health are so very important in today's world. Work to take care of yourself before you have to work to cure yourself! Very nice article Eric. Thank you!

Very important change of mindset for the American people in general. We need to focus more on 'preventative' medicine on the front end and then we will not need so much mediation on the 'treatment' medicine on the back end. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
