A Neighborhood Gem

Where to find resources for your aging parents, right in Lake Forest. Dickinson Hall is the place to call for answers to your many questions about life transitions.

Speaking with a volunteer/member one recent day at Dickinson Hall, I learned what impact the Senior Center has had on her, and on her family's life.

When the time came that Carolyn Ashley's Mom needed a little more support and the family considered what their next step should be, they researched what a variety of local communities offered and discovered the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Senior Center. This jewel set in the woods of the Grove Cultural Campus made Lake Forest their choice for relocation.

It offered her Mom a chance to reconnect with her peers and find a wide variety of programs and activities that gave her back a chance to learn, grow, and find friendly companions who understood her, and the stage of life she had reached.  Carolyn remains grateful still because even as her Mom has aged further, she finds the support of the Center a place of comfort to her Mom.
