LF School District 67: Borkowski discusses the Mandarin Program

Mike Borkowski, candidate for School District 67, discusses the Mandarin Immersion Program in his ongoing video series, "Eight Issues, Eight Days."

Good morning --

Thanks for the feedback on the "Eight Issues, Eight Days" video series.  I've heard from a lot of you and appreciate each of your responses.  Today's topic is a hot issue that on the surface  may seem to only affect Cherokee School, but that is not true - this topic really impacts the entire district, particularly when we look to the future.

Topic 3:  The Mandarin Immersion Program

Overview:  The Mandarin Immersion Program was implemented two years ago in District 67, and it continues to generate a lot of comments, both positive and negative.  What's the big deal with the program?  Is it a good thing or a bad thing for the district?  And what's the next step?  In this video, I briefly outline some of the positives and issues associated with the program, and I also give some recommendations for moving forward.  To watch the video, click here:  Borkowski discusses Mandarin program.
